PTB Secures ISO 9001:2015 Accreditation

PTB celebrates its ISO 9001:2015 certification by SIRIM QAS International, reflecting its commitment to quality and excellence. Talks Begin for Collaboration Between SIRIM and PTB

SIRIM Berhad and Pakar Tenaga Bersatu Sdn Bhd have initiated discussions for a potential partnership focusing on standards, training, and certification.

 

Led by key representatives, including Pakar Tenaga’s FDr. Pengiran Hishamuddin Alli and FDr. Hjh Normawati @ Mawar, along with SIRIM’s En. Mohd Faisal Abdul Shukor and En. Nik Sazali Nik Hussin, the talks highlighted shared goals and synergies, setting a positive foundation for collaboration.

PTB Visits MCY to Mentor Industrial Placement Students From IBTE

On May 25, 2023, Pakar Tenaga Bersatu (PTB), alongside other RTOs and IBTE, visited Marine Construction Yard to assess the progress of IBTE Intake 4 students undergoing industrial placement at Massutera Engineering Sdn Bhd (MESB).

 

The visit, attended by the MESB Managing Director, included discussions with students about their experiences, challenges, and skill development. PTB evaluated the work environment and the program’s alignment with academic goals, emphasizing its commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world applications.

PTB's Participation in BFRD Fire Marshall Training

From May 1-3, the Fire Marshal Training at Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Station, organized by the Fire and Rescue Department, certified PTB's Joel Comeros and Hj Noralimen Hj Lakim as Fire Marshals.

 

The training covered fire safety essentials, including fire causes, evacuation procedures, and proper use of extinguishers and fire blankets. PTB's participation reflects its commitment to employee and community safety, exceeding regulatory standards to uphold the highest safety practices.

Winners of The Pipefitting Tournament

In conclusion of the Marking and Fitting Intake 4 training, a Pipefitting Tournament was held last April 10 and 11 at the L3C workshop to test what they have learned during their practical training and also to prepare trainees for the upcoming Interim Assessment.

In the said tournament, the team of AMIRUL ARYISAD @ AMIRUL ARSAD BIN ALIMIN and NURAMAL AFIQAH AMANI @ NURSA’ADAH BINTI HAJI MOHAMMD SAIFUL earned the highest point and declared as the winner.
 

On the same day, NURHAZIRAH NATASHA BINTI ABDULLAH HAZIMIN was recognized as Best Pakat for the month of March. This award is given to trainees who showcased profound skills and knowledge on Safety in the working environment.
 

The above-mentioned events were graced by PTB’s Managing Director Pg Hj FDr Hishamuddin Alli Pengiran Jaya Indera Pengiran Hj Mohktar Puteh who also handed the awards to the recognized trainees.​

Marker Fitter Quiz Bee & End Point Assessment

Pakar Tenaga Bersatu held its first Marking and Fitting Quiz Bee Quiz at the Lifelong Learning Center last March 20 and 21 of this year. The said event was participated by the students from Intake 4 and was facilitated by their training instructors Sir William Marquez and Sir Zulhazmi Zainal Abidin. Participants were able to showcase what they’ve learned from their training sessions and lessons by answering questions that challenged their knowledge and skills.

On the other hand, the End point Assessment was also held for the students of Intake 3 on the same day. Mr. Alfredo Munar Welding Engineer of PTAS Aker Solutions was the assessor of the Endpoint Assessment. All trainees passed the assessment, seven (7) with Distinction and four (4) with Merit.

PTB's Marking & Fitting Training Cohort 3 Concludes

In the conclusion of Pakar Tenaga Bersatu’s (PTB) training for Marking and Fitting Programme Cohort 3, an institutional recognition day was held at PTB’s training facility in Lifelong Learning Centre (L3C) last October 31, 2022. The said event was graced by Pg FDr Hishamuddin Alli Pengiran Jaya Indera Pg Hj Mohktar Puteh, PTB Managing Director, and his better half FDr Hjh Normawati @ Mawar Data Paduka Haji Othman, PTB Co-Founder, who respectively expressed their compliments and gratitude to the trainers and trainees.


A special recognition was also given to Jacob Rasselo Bin Roslan and Nurul Syazwani Binti Abu Bakar for winning the Marking and Fitting competition held last September 14, and for Best PAKAT for the month of October is Muhammad Akmal Syafiq Bin Abdullah Mohd Tahir.

Celebrating Achievements and Contributions of Women in Brunei

Big BWN Project organised the Womennovation Brunei event at Dilmah T-Lounge in Batu Satu recently to celebrate the contributions and achievements of women in Brunei.

Syarikat Pakar Tenaga Bersatu's Co-founder and Deputy Managing Director FDr. Normawati @ Mawar binti Dato Paduka Haji Othman delivered her keynote address that accentuated the significant changes in innovation and technology brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution also known as Industry 4.0, which provides a platform for women to enter and be recognised for their contributions and achievements.

PTB Delivers Webinar on Health and Safety Foundations and Regulations

On November 18, 2021, Pertubuhan Ukur, Jurutera dan Arkitek Academy (PASB) and Syarikat Pakar Tenaga Bersatu (PTB) hosted a webinar on Health and Safety Regulations, attended by nearly 40 participants from various organizations.

Led by Pg FDr Hishamuddin Alli Pengiran Jaya Indera Pg Hj Mohktar Puteh, the session covered Brunei's workplace safety laws, roles and responsibilities, and accident investigation. The speaker shared insights from his Oil and Gas experience, discussing key legislations like the Workmen’s Compensation Act 1957 and Workplace Safety and Health Order 2009.

This webinar, which also contributed to CPD/CPE points for PUJA members, is the first in a planned series on Health, Safety, and Environment.

Nisai Group, NOCN and PTB Collaborate to Establish the Regional Centre of Excellence in Education in Brunei Darussalam

Nisai Group Ltd (UK) and local company Syarikat Pakar Tenaga Bersatu (PTB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to establish a Nisai branch in Brunei Darussalam. The branch will serve clients across ASEAN, China, Japan, and the Middle East, offering Cambridge IGCSEs, A Levels, and online technical, vocational, and work-based programs through Nisai's partnership with the National Open College Network (NOCN).

The signing took place at the Royal Institution's 14th Global Congress at the Empire Hotel, with senior officers from both organizations in attendance. The branch aims to employ at least 15 Bruneians in its initial phase, providing teacher training and opportunities for local technical and vocational trainers to become assessors.

Dhruv Patel, Nisai CEO, praised Brunei's English proficiency and UK-based education system as key factors in the decision. Graham Hasting-Evans of NOCN highlighted the collaboration’s potential to expand NOCN’s global reach. PTB’s Managing Director, Pg Hishamuddin Alli, emphasized PTB’s dedication to lifelong learning and workforce development in Brunei.
